2D fantasy adventure game
Minute of Islands is an indie game by Studio Fizbin. This game takes you on an adventure across a mysterious yet awe-inspiring archipelago. The world was once full of life but is now polluted by deadly spores. The only things keeping the island safe are the antennas built by the giants and humans. The story begins when the antennas begin to malfunction. It is up to Mo—the game’s protagonist—to repair them. As Mo, you must use your Omni-Switch to solve the numerous mind-boggling puzzles of the antennas. Your mission is critical as it will keep your island safe.
Picturesque puzzle platformer
Minute of Islands centers around an archipelago that is both beautiful and strange. A once-thriving island of giants and humans is now depleted of its resources. The archipelago has always relied on its antennas for safety. But when they begin to fall apart, it is up to the island’s one and only mechanic, Mo, to fix it. As the young tinkerer, you are on a quest to keep the island from fully collapsing.
Your primary tool is Omni-Switch. The sword-like tool can only be used by Mo. You must use the switch to traverse around this puzzle-platformer. But to get from one platform to the next requires you to interact with the environment, such as pulling levers and turning wheels. The environment was designed with massive amounts of detail. So, you will have to think carefully in order to guide Mo from level to level.
Minute of Islands stands out from other story-driven puzzle platformers because of its vibrant comic book style. The flat yet crisp lines that make up the illustrations lighten up the mature themes of the storyline. Mo’s sense of urgency towards the archipelago can be sorely felt as the story progresses, making players feel that they are the hero of the story rather than playing a two-dimensional character.
